windows 8 or RT

Windows RT and windows 8 are look nearly identical with the new tile based screen and the available desktop mode. They look same but behave entirely differently which obviously create confusion. Here I am going to point out some difference which will help you to understand the difference:
  1. In terms of price windows 8 pro will be available to purchase standalone in $70. Microsoft said that user can be able to update windows 8 pro online on Oct 26 in $40. Windows RT in technically priceless. It will only be available built into specific devices. It’s cost is expected to less than windows 8 devices.
  2. Windows 8 runs on x86 devices, powered by Intel or AMD chips. Windows RT will only run on ARM-powered devices.
  3. Windows 8 have estimated battery life is 8-10 hrs but windows RT have more longer battery life estimated to be 20 hrs.
  4. The interface of windows 8 is full of features you can use all the third party software in desktop mode but in windows RT you can’t use third party software in desktop mode.
  5. Windows 8 will be able to run all the software including third party but windows RT only support apps from windows store and its built-in version of Office 2013.
You have to purchase windows 8 if you want to have a full featured operating system with an actually useful desktop mode. If you want a tablet then windows RT is a good fit. Remember that windows RT is limited to apps in windows store which is not very robust yet. You can check for new updates for windows now.
